This article aims to examine and critique the narratives related to the succession and martyrdom of Imam Reza (A) in general Islamic historical texts. The findings indicate that the authors of these texts, due to religious biases and the political interests of the rulers, have selectively chosen the narratives concerning the succession of Imam Reza (A), deliberately overlooking many key issues. Instead of presenting historical realities, these texts contain information that contradicts the facts, resulting from the biased and unfounded historiography of certain prejudiced writers. This article employs a library-based methodology and a descriptive-analytical approach to critique these narratives, aiming to clarify historical truths and elucidate the true role of Imam Reza (A) in Islamic history, ultimately providing a pathway for gaining genuine knowledge and insight into the lives of the Imams (A). امام شناسی از مهمترین مسائل مُبتلابه جامعه شیعه است و عملکرد آنان گفتمان‌های مختلفی را شکل داده است. این مقاله درصدد بررسی و نقد روایات مربوط به ولایت عهدی و شهادت امام رضا (ع) در کتب عمومی تاریخی اسلامیست و نتایج نشان می دهد که مؤلفان این کتب، به دلیل تعصبات مذهبی و منافع سیاسی حاکمان، روایات مربوط به ولایت‌عهدی امام رضا (ع) را به‌طور گزینشی انتخاب نموده و بسیاری از مسائل کلیدی عمداً نادیده گرفته‌ شده است و این کتب به جای ارائه واقعیت‌های تاریخی، حاوی مطالبیست که با واقعیت‌ها مغایرت دارد و ماحصل تاریخ‌نویسی غرض‌آلود و بی‌پایه‌ برخی از نویسندگان مغرض است. این مقاله با روش کتابخانه‌ای و رویکرد توصیفی-تحلیلی به نقد این روایات پرداخته تا به روشن شدن حقایق تاریخی و تبیین نقش واقعی امام رضا (ع) در تاریخ اسلام بیانجامد و در نهایت، راهی برای کسب معرفت و بصیرت واقعی از زندگی ائمه (ع) فراهم گردد. https://www.sh-isihistory.ir/article_242527_6325978807900e657b7ba9d82f06a648.pdf
