Aims and Scope

Studies and research on Shi'a studies are expanding alongside other fields of Islamic studies. Today, numerous scholars and researchers in Shi'a studies are actively engaged in teaching and research at prestigious universities worldwide. Additionally, several academic conferences on various topics related to Shi'a studies are held annually. However, it must be acknowledged that in Iran, contrary to common perception, there is neither an established academic program specifically dedicated to Shi'a studies nor a sufficient number of reputable research journals to meet the needs of researchers and enthusiasts in this field.

Recognizing this gap, the Iranian Association of Islamic History has taken the initiative to address this need. To provide an appropriate platform for the publication of scholarly works by researchers and experts in this domain, the association launched its second academic journal, titled The Research Journal of Shia History, dedicated exclusively to Shi'a studies and research.

While paying tribute to those who have previously contributed to this field and honoring their efforts, the journal humbly acknowledges that its success relies on the intellectual and moral support of history enthusiasts, particularly those interested in Shi'a history. Therefore, this newly established journal welcomes all research related to historical developments, intellectual trajectories, foundational principles, dynasties, governments, culture, and civilization of the Shi'a. Scholars and researchers are warmly invited to collaborate and contribute to this enduring initiative.
